Jethro Tull launches special edition of 40 years 'Aqualung'

EMI Music Brazil launches today, October 31, in collaboration with Ian Anderson, a special collector's edition 40th anniversary of the classic Aqualung, Jethro Tull album. In Brazil, hits stores a double-disc version, accompanied by a unique 36-page booklet in cardboard digipak.

Originally released on Island Records in 1971, Aqualung has proved a huge success for Jethro Tull , reaching # 4 on album charts in the UK and # 7 on the Billboard U.S., helping to make the band one of the most successful of the '70s. To date, the album has sold over 15 million copies worldwide.

Aqualung was the fourth studio album by Jethro Tull and has a footprint more acoustic, mixing hard rock and folk melodies, inspired the work of British composers and singers of folk Bert Jansch and Roy Harper. With 11 songs, the album has a thematic thread that runs through his stories with characters such as Cross-Eyed Mary marginal and the title track. Along with these themes, the disc also addresses autobiographical material - Cheap Day Return, written by Anderson on a visit to his father in critical condition - and the profound question of religion in songs like My God.
